Offering divorcing couples an alternative to bitter legal battles

At the Divorce Mediation Center of CT, we believe that separation and divorce need not be angry, expensive, time-consuming, and emotionally destructive to families.

We help divorcing and separating couples negotiate settlement agreements that are both fair and workable. Through divorce mediation, we aim to:

  • Preserve family goodwill
  • Help couples create their own agreements, so that both individuals are more satisfied with the results
  • Save time and money
  • Make the process easier on adults and children

For families with children, we help the couple focus on the parental issues before the financial ones. We emphasize that the two issues are separate, and that the best interests of the children are the primary concerns in divorce.

The assistance we got from the Divorce Mediation Center was very helpful in getting our paperwork together correctly and allowed us to complete the process without delays. Having your paperwork done correctly is key in getting through the court without issue. Our day in court, a couple in front of us had poorly completed paperwork and they were sent away by the judge to return another day with it corrected. I’m glad that wasn’t me.
